(c) NOT Les Gets

The SkiColor event will take place on 31 January on Mont-Chéry. Mont-Chéry, located in Les Gets, is an integral part of the Les Gets-Morzine ski area and the Portes du Soleil with a small train (free of charge) providing access into the rest of the ski area.

Mont-Chéry is a little gem, a well-kept secret by those in the know, with runs that offer some good gradients and most of all exceptional panoramic views of the Mont-Blanc mountain range. Mont-Chéry peaks at 1,826 m, the ideal spot for paragliders winter and summer alike.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

  • With 7 ski lifts and 12 runs catering to all levels of ability, the area has something to please everyone.
  • 3 cross-country skiing loops and 6 marked paths for walkers add to its offerings.
  • 4 altitude restaurants (Le Belvédère, La Grande Ourse, La Grignotte et La Chanterelle) are open during the season, the opportunity to enjoy local specialities. A heated picnic room is also available, offering comfort for skiers and walkers on their way through.

MONT-CHERY, THE VENUE FOR LEADING EVENTS

  • Many leading events have taken place on Mont-Chéry during both winter and summer.
  • The Gazelle black run hosted the FIS Woman’s Alpine Skiing World Cup in 1974 and 1981, and snowboarding was the star sport during the organisation of the 1998 World Cup.
  • Following the successful organisation of successive mountain biking World Cups, the resort was awarded the organisation of the World Championships in 2004. Over 100,000 spectators watched stunning performances by Julien Absalon and Fabien Barel.

Finally, in recent years, the area has been behind events that have premiered on Mont-Chéry, such as Big Mountain Battle and the “I Love Mont-Chéry” Valentine’s Day dinner in the bubble lifts.

On 31 January 2015, SkiColor will add further to Mont-Chéry’s unique personality, offering an unforgettable experience facing Mont Blanc!
